The Discovery
Ok, it may not seem like much to you, but to us it's like manna from heaven. There we were on our way to the movies, the first time we'd been to the cinemas inside Mexico City's massive World Trade Center, wishing we'd had time for dessert beforehand like we'd planned, when out of nowhere it appeared. A stand in the middle of the cinemas with a young woman smiling behind it, ready to dish up whatever we liked: Cherry Garcia, Dublin Mudslide, Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz, New York Super Chunk, Strawberry Cheesecake, Sweet Cream Cookie. All our favorites were there, laid out before us like a gorgeous array of jewels. I couldn't believe we'd found it, after months of settling for less than satisfying local ice cream brands and refusing to pay the exorbitant $6 for a pint of Haagan Daaz, we'd come home. Ben & Jerry's in Mexico. I turned to Albero, still dazed by the discovery: "Honey, this changes everything!"

I can only imagine your happiness! My biggest problem in Lebanon was that my hotel was next door to a DIVINE ice cream cafe where i ate ice cream every day. I can now, not fit into my pants. I should take up marathon running life Alberto...I'm soon off to south Sudan where there is no ice cream, ben and jerrys or otherwise, to be had.
