One Year

One year ago tonight we gave birth to Pablo. Hard to believe it was so long ago. That thing all parents say about how fast they grow up, well, apparently it's true. As of 12:39a.m. tomorrow morning, Pablo will officially be one year old, and we will have officially survived our first year as parents! Wow, do we have a lot to celebrate! At one year, here's what Pablo is up to...

1. Toddling around like a little toddler.
2. Laughing like a goofball and letting out random high pitched squeals.
3. Partying it up with the climbing crew at Meg's fabulous dinners!
4. Still not sleeping through the night.
5. Eating lots of bananas and cheese and an occasional barbecue potato chip.
6. Chasing his papa around the kitchen till they both fall down giggling.
7. Refusing to lie down for diaper changes. (I can now put a diaper on him in any position, including while chasing him around the room.)
8. Getting over a sudden fear of his bath that came on for no apparent reason.
9. Cuddling with the cats, the pillows, and us.
10. Learning to speak Spanglish - his first word, "cat", has now morphed into "gat" (as in not quite cat and not quite gato).
11. Stacking little building blocks and putting things in and out of containers.
12. Protesting loudly when we say no to anything.
13. Charming people on the Metro.
14. Teething (again)
15. Preparing for year 2!
