The move
So, I now have less than 6 weeks to finish packing our life and ship it off to Mexico. It's a hellish process at this point. What started out as a cleansing of unneeded clutter has now become an all-consuming rush to cram things in boxes, lug them to the postal office, pay hundreds of dollars to ship them, wondering all the time if the stuff in them is really worth the effort and cost, and having no certainty that we will ever see them again or, if we do, what condition they will be in. We managed to narrow the "keep" list down to books, pottery, and some kitchen items - all the heaviest items of course. But there seems to be a never ending list of extras that are piling up - lamps and wedding gifts and pictures and knicknacks and on and on. My entire life has become a running list of what to pack, what to store, how to get it all where, and when will it all be over.
