A Canteros

That's how it's raining here. Llueve a canteros, or the equivalent of it's rainy cats and dogs. And hail and ice too! Our neighborhood just got inundated by a crazy storm with hailstones the size of golfballs. A major street nearby is filled with water and ice, cars floating slowly along looking for a way out. Our roof was filled calf-deep with hail and various leaks had us scurrying about with buckets and towels. A local street artist showed up at our door drenched and shivering and after a change of clothes and some tea and food is now sleeping in the garage. (His show consists of pretending to lie on glass and press it against his face in front of traffic at the corner light...not very impressive really...but he's nice enough, originally from Oaxaca and has silver letters embedded in his front teeth, apparently for only 300 pesos...don't ask.)

Just another night in Mexico City. But not a very good one to be camped out in the streets protesting the elections.
