Dinner last night

Ok, my number one blog fan was completely unsatisfied with my last post and I was instructed I had to tell you something, anything, even if it was what I had for dinner last night.

So, here goes...

Tamales. And actually that does lead me to reflect on how perfect of a food tamales really are. Wrapped up in a corn husk, all warm and filled with yummy goodness, and available on most corners around the city, homemade, a pure family business, for just about a buck each. They are what fast food should be.

So, there you have it. I had the verde (pollo with verde sauce), Alberto had dulce as well (made with sugar and bright pink food coloring). Mmmmm, tamalitos.

Hey - what happened to your other fans who were commenting on your blog a year ago? There were like 4-5 comments from friends then - don't they like you anymore? :)

I like you. I'm just that lazy. You know, I don't think I've ever had a tamale. I should probably try one. Last night I had veggie chili and matzas.

Do you remember those pastry pockets full of leftover turkey and cream cheese that Mom used to make after Thanksgiving? I made them with leftover chicken this week. They are definitely good, but not as good as I remembered them. I wonder if it's my cooking or my changing tastes?
