Manuel returned today. He arrived in the midst of a frantic day at the Casa, between trying to finish a major writing project, wrap up a grant proposal, eating the homemade tamales we made yesterday (a big Feb. 2 tradition), dealing with a major staff issue (ie, having to fire someone), and failing to do the other 6 things on my list, there was Manuel. He didn't find work in Queretero but did contact a couple former employers who gave him letters of recommendation. He's planning on going back to the job agency here in Mexico City next week with hopes of finding something soon. In the meantime, he needs a place to stay. And the Casa has the space. So, what else are we going to do?
